Infrastructure Delivery Manager for Data Center Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Delivery Manager to join our Data Center Operations team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prioritize and Assign Tasks: Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
  2. Manage Inbound Hardware Installation: Manage the installation of inbound hardware from receiving through deployment stages.
  3. Manage Cabling Infrastructure: Manage the installation of cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
  4. Guide and Train Staff: Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
  5. Manage Projects and Deliverables: Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
  6. Recommend Policies and Procedures: Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs.
  7. Provide Weekly Reporting: Provide weekly reporting to data center managers.
  8. Coordinate Team Resources: Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, and maintenance window support, as well as potential off-hours and on-call needs.
  9. Recruit and Train Staff: Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  10. Host Staff Meetings: Host weekly staff meetings.
  11. Drive Compliance: Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering discipline.
  2. Relevant Work Experience: Relevant work experience in Data Center, IT Operations, or similar.
  3. People Management Experience: Experience of people management.
  4. Technical Skills: TCP/IP networking, network cabling, structured cabling, optic types, and test equipment experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree: Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  2. Data Center Experience: Experience working in a Data Center.
  3. LEAN/6 Sigma Experience: Experience implementing LEAN/6 Sigma methodology (continuous improvement, 5 Whys, Root Cause analysis, etc.).
  4. IT Infrastructure Experience: Experience with information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling best practices, and IT service delivery principles and best practices.
