We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team at Wood. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and security of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and security policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors on health, safety, and security procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers and site teams to develop and implement site-specific health, safety, and security plans.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to stay up-to-date on the latest health, safety, and security requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on health, safety, and security performance to management and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks to employees, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and security regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain a culture of health, safety, and security within the organization.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH General International Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Registered CHSO with SACPCMP.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General International Certificate.
- SAMTRAC/Mining SAMTRAC.
- HIRA.
- ASHEPP.
- First Aid level 1.
- Incident Investigation.
