Position Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Science Laboratory Educator to become a vital part of our enthusiastic team. The Science Laboratory Educator will oversee the efficient management and operation of our science labs. This role calls for a proactive individual with a solid foundation in scientific principles and laboratory practices, who can enhance the educational journey through hands-on support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize laboratory experiments, including the arrangement of materials, equipment, and specimens.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain laboratory apparatus to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and sterilization of laboratory tools and surfaces to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist science educators in planning and executing laboratory-based lessons and demonstrations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to students during laboratory activities, helping them grasp and apply scientific concepts.
  • Demonstrate the proper use of laboratory equipment and techniques to students.
  • Implement and uphold stringent safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory to ensure a secure environment for students and staff.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure that all safety equipment, such as eyewash stations and fire extinguishers, is readily available and in good working order.
  • Educate students on laboratory safety practices and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized inventory system, ordering and replenishing materials as necessary.
  • Ensure that all chemicals and materials are stored correctly and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Keep detailed records of laboratory activities, including experiment results, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare reports on laboratory operations, equipment status, and safety compliance as required by school administration.
  • Track and report any incidents or issues that arise in the laboratory setting.
  • Assist in developing engaging and interactive laboratory activities that stimulate students' interest in science.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help or clarification during laboratory sessions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment within the laboratory.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in an educational environment, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and other staff members.
