    • Schedule and assign work to meet completion dates
    • Estimate resource needs
  • Conduct Internal Controls Assessments
    • Identify control weaknesses and related potential control risks
  • Perform Audits and Provide Recommendations
    • Participate in auditing within the assigned area of responsibility
    • Maintain strict confidentiality on all information acquired during duties
    • Apply professional accounting and auditing principles and standards to test and evaluate financial records, operational systems, and information flows of the accounting process
  • Supervise and Develop Audit Staff
    • Supervise Internal Audit staff and develop their professional capabilities through on-the-job training
  • Establish Effective Working Relationships
    • Establish effective working relationships with internal audit staff and personnel from other departments
  • Document and Review Audit Procedures
    • Document and/or review all significant procedures of the entity, evaluating their effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with national laws and company regulations where applicable
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance
    • Review and approve audit programs and time budgets
    • Implement policies and establish procedures covering the scope of audits
    • Review and evaluate work papers of completed projects to ensure adequate documentation has been gathered and that work papers provide an adequate basis for reporting
    • Review the final draft audit report to assure full and complete reporting in a professional manner prior to approval by the Manager, Internal Audit
  • Follow-up on Audit Findings
    • Conduct effective follow-up of audit findings to ensure adequacy and timeliness of correction
  • Communicate with Management
    • Conduct opening meetings with branch managers/department heads to clarify the internal audit purpose, scope, objectives, responsibility, and authority, as well as exit meetings to ensure that the observations raised are clear and fully understood, and to obtain management responses on the report
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in accountancy/commerce/finance/audit is required
  • Professional Designations
    • CIA / CPA / CMA / CISA or equivalent professional designation
