About this Opportunity

This role requires leading the Communication & Interior Design (Com & In) Team and other functions to increase home furnishing interest among customers and create demand for home solutions in the local market.

The successful candidate will lead the Com & In team to generate creative directions through workshops, utilizing knowledge of IKEA home furnishings and people's lifestyles.

A key responsibility will be to develop range presentation solutions, optimize store layout, and enhance effective communication to build the IKEA Brand and differentiate from competitors.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a design-oriented role, such as interior design, graphic design, visual merchandising, and/or store planning, as well as interior design/visual merchandising supervisory experience in or outside IKEA.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Com & In team to generate creative directions through workshops, utilizing knowledge of IKEA home furnishings and people's lifestyles.
  • Develop range presentation solutions, optimize store layout, and enhance effective communication to build the IKEA Brand and differentiate from competitors.
  • Ensure the commercial team understands store layout, range presentation, and store communication, contributing to the work method for range presentation.
  • Assist the Store Manager in identifying business needs to recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing Com & In team.
  • Lead the Com & In team to exploit commercial opportunities in both short- and long-term contexts.
  • Supervise daily and weekly operational work in the Com & In department.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Sales Manager to change range presentations due to range changes, sales drops, or out-of-stock situations to secure optimal range presentation and achieve sales goals.
  • Review planning, preparation, and implementation processes of planned changes with ID, VM, GD, and Activity functions.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store budget for the department.
  • Coordinate with marketing activities to highlight new products and display them attractively.
  • Align Com & In action plans considering business commercial calendars, room setting rebuilds, homes, specialty shops, and compacts.
  • Eliminate overlapping works between functions, such as carpentry, graphic design, assembly, electrician, and IT requests.

Your People and Development Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Com & In co-workers receive necessary safety training and follow rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
  • Provide proper training, including development programs, to secure store performance and succession needs.
  • Maintain good relations between Com & In and other departments.

Your Required Skills:

Your Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a design-oriented role, such as interior design, graphic design, visual merchandising, and/or store planning.
  • Interior design/visual merchandising supervisory experience in or outside IKEA.
  • Store layout planning experience.
  • Deep interest in and highly developed knowledge of home furnishings and the way people live.
