About the Role:

Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings seeks a seasoned Purchasing Officer to lead our procurement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Sourcing: Identify and engage top suppliers and subcontractors through market research and trade shows.
  2. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date technical library for reference.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  4. Oversee the development and management of the material procurement database.
  5. Conduct prequalification assessments for sub-contractors and vendors.
Operational Tasks:
  1. Produce required documentation for procurement planning.
  2. Distribute RFQs for materials and subcontract work as per project schedules.
  3. Collect and upload RFQ responses and quotations in SharePoint.
  4. Compare and evaluate offers based on technical, price, schedule, and budget criteria.
  5. Update sub-contractor and material logs for project stakeholders.
  6. Facilitate material sample approvals from clients and consultants.
  7. Verify Local Purchase Orders made by Purchasers.
  8. Collaborate with Construction teams for smooth delivery of materials and addressing technical concerns.
  9. Ensure purchased items align with project specifications and requirements.
  10. Craft and coordinate letters of intent, acceptance, and subcontract agreements.
  11. Foster collaboration with Engineering Department for technical evaluations and compliance matrices.
  12. Consult with Senior Procurement Engineers/Officers and Procurement Manager on vendor selection and RFQ releases.
  13. Attend weekly procurement meetings and contribute project insights.
  14. Participate in relevant meetings as needed.
Professional Development:
  1. Support the training and growth of Procurement department staff.
  2. Carry out tasks assigned by Management.
