As a Bar Waiter at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Bar Setup and Maintenance: Ensure the bar area is clean, well-stocked, and organized, including daily cleaning of equipment, restocking fridges and stations, and preparing mise-en-place.
- Stock Management: Assist with stock counts and ensure the restaurant has adequate supplies for the shift, including crockery, glassware, cutlery, condiments, and fresh fruit.
- Service Delivery: Prepare hot drinks to the required standard, clean the coffee machine and hot drink equipment, replenish stations as needed, and wash utensils, glassware, and crockery after each use.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the utmost cleanliness throughout the service, ensuring the stations and bar area are tidy and well-organized.
- Special Events: Assist in setting up the bar for special or private events as per briefing.
- Guest Etiquette: Refer to guests as 'Sir' or 'Madam,' allow guests right of way, assist guests with requests, and ensure ladies are served first.
- Alert System: Alert the Head Bartender or Manager of any spillages, challenging guests, or intruders in the restaurant or building.
- Guest Feedback: Regularly provide feedback to Managers, ensuring every guest has received the brand experience and inform Managers if a guest is not content with their dining experience.
- Menu Knowledge: Take the initiative to study and learn all menus, attend food and beverage training to understand ingredients and cooking methods, and describe dishes and beverages to guests when required.
- Training and Development: Attend training sessions, read training notes, and continually further your skills and knowledge.
- Staff Relationships: Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with all staff and suppliers.
- Customer Service: Provide a courteous, professional, attentive, and efficient service at all times with customers, staff, and suppliers alike.
- Operational Knowledge: Be fully conversant with the geographical layout of the operation and know the exact whereabouts of all equipment of an operational nature.
- Restaurant Operations: Have a complete understanding of the restaurant operation and respond to any changes in the restaurant function as requested by the Manager.
- Staff Briefings: Attend and contribute to all staff briefings/meetings and other related activities.
- New Recruit Support: Support new recruits through on-the-job training.
- Personal Appearance: Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, as per the personal presentation policy, and report for duty punctually, wearing the appropriate attire.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake and carry out any other reasonable roles and responsibilities as requested by the Manager.
