Specialist Roaster

About the Role:

Oyster is seeking a skilled Coffee Roasting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our coffee production process, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality coffee beans, operating and maintaining our roasting equipment, and developing roast profiles to achieve the desired flavor and aroma characteristics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Bean Sourcing and Procurement: Collaborate with our sourcing team to select and procure high-quality coffee beans from various regions, ensuring consistency and quality in our coffee offerings.
2. Roasting and Quality Control: Operate, monitor, and maintain our coffee roasting equipment to ensure optimal roasting conditions for each coffee variety, and conduct regular quality control checks to maintain the highest quality standards.
3. Roast Profile Development: Develop and refine roast profiles for different coffee beans to achieve the desired flavor and aroma characteristics, and work closely with our production team to implement these profiles.
4. Inventory Management: Manage coffee bean inventory levels, ensuring freshness and availability for production, and work with our logistics team to optimize inventory turnover and reduce waste.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in coffee roasting and quality control
• Strong knowledge of coffee roasting techniques and flavor profiles
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
