Job Title: AML Investigator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AML Investigator to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank. As an AML Investigator, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating financial crime risks, ensuring the integrity of our financial systems, and upholding our commitment to compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious transactions and activities, utilizing advanced analytical skills and knowledge of financial crime trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, risk, and law enforcement, to share intelligence and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in AML regulations, sanctions, and other relevant compliance requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging financial crime threats and trends, adapting investigative strategies and techniques accordingly.
  • Communicate complex findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise reporting.
  • Participate in training and professional development programs to enhance skills and stay current with industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Economic Crime Investigation, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees (JD, MBA, etc.) viewed positively.
  • 3-5 years experience in a large multinational financial institution, law firm, or global organization.
  • 1-3 years AML Compliance or related banking experience, or experience involving money laundering or complex financial investigations.
  • CAMS certification strongly preferred (required within one year).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and extract key findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work orientation and ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a willingness to share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
