Position Overview:


We are looking for a Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer/Architect to spearhead Systems Engineering development and integration for innovative UAV initiatives.

This is a permanent opportunity with our esteemed client in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and uphold the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
  • Create system specifications and lower-level subsystem details to enable the development team to design according to specifications
  • Formulate Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Design architectural frameworks in collaboration with design authorities at various system levels, documenting them in design descriptions, specifications, and layout diagrams
  • Collaborate closely with specialists within a multidisciplinary team
  • Manage technical aspects of multidisciplinary teams, including performance trade-offs and overseeing the development team and technical outputs across functional areas (e.g., environmental, EMC, aerodynamics, simulations, guidance and control, software, etc.)
  • Coordinate with logistics/product support development and safety to ensure the integration of specialist engineering capabilities such as reliability, maintainability, transportability, and producibility into the design
  • Develop the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
  • Facilitate system qualification by ensuring test results are documented to produce compliance reports demonstrating adherence of the design to specifications
  • Adhere to methodologies that meet Quality Assurance standards, including test repeatability
  • Maintain a decision register that documents significant decisions from trade-off analyses
  • Lead technical Design Reviews in accordance with the Acquisition Process/Systems Engineering Phases, including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR), coordinating with all engineering disciplines and design authorities for compliance with review checklists
  • Organize and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) prior to critical ground tests (airframe structural test, GVT, etc.) in collaboration with engineering disciplines and design authorities, as well as ahead of flight tests in conjunction with the Flight Test department
  • Conduct Configuration Control Board (CCB)/Project Configuration Management Boards (PCMBs) meetings with design authorities, CM, QA, and safety to process Engineering Change Proposal/Notice/Requests (ECPs/ECNs/ECRs)
  • Participate in Material Review Boards (MRBs)
  • Produce technical work packages, reports, and presentations as necessary to assist the PM in preparing for PMRs
Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in a high-tech environment, preferably 15 years in aerospace
  • Minimum of 5 years, ideally 10 years, of experience as a systems engineer
  • Previous experience in the aeronautics engineering sector is preferred
