Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Drawing Creation: Develop comprehensive technical drawings, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineers, architects, and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed drawings.
  • Modification and Updates: Revise existing drawings as needed, ensuring all modifications are well-documented and up-to-date.
  • Leadership and Training: Mentor and supervise junior draughtsmen, providing training and reviewing their work for accuracy and quality.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project teams to ensure drawings meet practical requirements and project deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on drawings to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Documentation and Filing: Maintain proper documentation of all drawings, revisions, and updates, and organize and archive drawing files according to company standards.
  • Material Estimations: Assist in estimating material quantities based on drawings, helping in the planning and budgeting process.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all drawings meet legal, regulatory, and safety standards, and stay updated on the latest industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in drafting, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering or architectural principles, and familiarity with industry-specific standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues with designs and offer practical solutions.
Work Environment
  • Office-based, with occasional site visits depending on the nature of the project.
  • May require extended working hours to meet project deadlines.
