We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Drafter - Technical Engineering to join our team at the National Petroleum Construction Company Limited. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supervising and participating in discipline-specific drafting activities.
Purpose & Scope:
The Lead Drafter - Technical Engineering will be responsible for leading teams involved in the development of discipline-specific engineering drawings, ensuring timely completion and adherence to set standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and participate in discipline-specific drafting activities carried out by drafting staff.
- Study and understand the scope of work and specifications for each project.
- Prepare basic drawings and allocate them to team members for detailed engineering drawing preparation.
- Act as the ultimate checker for all drawings produced by draftsmen.
- Prepare the Bill of Materials for the entire project.
- Provide input for the resolution of engineering queries from clients or third parties.
- Review 3D modeling.
- Undertake interdisciplinary coordination to ensure integration of project drafting activities.
- Work closely with discipline engineers to ensure speedy resolution of problems and adherence to project schedules.
Skills Required:
- Technical Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
- 12 years of design experience, with a minimum of 3 years as Design Team Leader.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas field, preferably in offshore operations.
- Supervisory experience and team-leader qualities.
- Essential experience in 3D modeling.
- Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Experienced and competent Computer-Aided Design (CAD) operator.
- Rigorous checker.
