Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Accountant to join our team at Emirates Dubai. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, clearing exceptions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transaction Processing: Process revenue accounting transactions, clear exceptions, and raise invoices in accordance with approved ISO standards and procedures.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Identify and evaluate discrepancies, resolve queries with internal or external stakeholders, and maintain detective and prevention controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support to Supervisor/Officer: Assist the Supervisor or Officer in pre/post-closing accounting functions and ad-hoc assignments.
  • Customer Support: Provide required information and answer queries to internal and external customers.
  • Cash Management: Receipt daily collections in GR&CS cash counters at airport and non-airport locations into respective GL ledger, airline accounts, or other debtor accounts.
  • Financial System Updates: Update the financial system with complete and accurate details to enable generation of receipts, invoices, payment vouchers, and other financial documents and entries on time.
  • Financial Documentation: Check documentation to identify deviations from set accounting procedures and practices on payments, receipts, accruals, prepayments, and recoverable.
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain manual or system-based records of process requests, enquiries, complaints, claims, payment vouchers, and reconciliation statements.
  • Query Resolution: Respond to queries raised on a daily basis from staff, other finance sections, or external clients (e.g., debtors, airlines) as appropriate.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Perform basic-level reconciliation based on predefined parameters for various clearing accounts, debtor, creditor, petty cash, reimbursement, deduction, and accrual accounts.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree in Finance or Accounting related preferred.
  • Experience: Finance & Insurance/Accounts: 3+ Years.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of office automation software like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Good analytical and investigative skills. Ability to multitask. Specific to Fare Revenue Protection, Passenger Flown, Refund, and Revenue Master Management. Knowledge of fares, ticketing (preferably with IATA qualification. Working knowledge of advanced fares and Global Distribution Systems (GDS) would be an added advantage.

Time Management: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, especially during busy periods like month-end closings.

Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication abilities to interact with colleagues and assist in explaining financial information.

Teamwork: Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other accounting team members and departments.

Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, tools, and regulatory changes.
