We are promoting a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work closely with our sales team in our NY office. This individual will collaborate with sales and customers on new product design and modifications that resolve security concerns.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Work with the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, and Sales Department on new product development, design modifications, and changes in manufacturing methods to improve manufacturing.
  2. Interface with customers to manage projects, provide technical support, and request clarification as needed.
  3. Review job specifications and plans prior to disseminating design or technical information.
  4. Create dimensioned shop submittal drawings of manufactured products and parts to obtain customer approval.
  5. Perform all necessary design calculations required in the development of submittal drawings.
  6. Develop and provide an accurate bill of materials and routings for project quoting and estimating efforts.
  7. Provide technical assistance to associates.
Qualifications:
  1. BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience/degree.
  2. 5-7 years of experience as a Design Engineer supporting the sales effort.
  3. Experience with new product development from concept to production.
  4. Steel and Aluminum Manufacturing and Fabrication Experience Preferred.
  5. Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  6. SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency.
