Job Purpose

To produce high-quality, detail-oriented professionals responsible for planning project design and overseeing all deliverables of the design phases from concept to technical design.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage day-to-day design activities for multiple projects, including hospitality, offices, residential, retail, and mixed-use developments.
  • Work in close alignment with Design Managers and project teams to develop design concepts and vision for interior spaces, considering client preferences and functional requirements.
  • Develop floor plans and layouts that maximize available space while ensuring functionality and flow, including creating mood boards, material boards, concept presentations, and design briefs.
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings, considering factors such as durability, sustainability, and budget constraints.
  • Prepare preliminary sketches and review projects before presenting to management.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, design specifications, cost estimates, and construction recommendations.
  • Train and guide suppliers, building contractors, and subcontractors to meet adequate quality standards during onsite inspections.
  • Ensure efficient time management, project planning, coordination of resources, and follow-up on projects and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities with Management
  • Communicate and keep management updated on daily project functioning, including correspondences from involved parties.
  • Check drawings and quantities for accuracy and report discrepancies to management immediately.
  • Attend client/management meetings and update on drawings, material finishes, etc.
  • Document design changes, modifications, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other drafters to ensure accuracy of drawings and scheduling third-party vendor site visits.
  • Site visits and attending meetings.
  • Work towards strict deadlines and deliverables.
  • Verify all emails to clients and building management with management before sending, and include at least one colleague CC'd.
