This role is critical in maintaining compliance with leading practices and identifying risk implementation gaps across the organization.

  • Assisting in the development of the annual risk-based internal audit plan by providing key inputs through the identification and evaluation of the organization's audit risk areas.
  • Performing all activities within the audit function in alignment with Global Internal Audit Standards and best practices.
  • Supporting management in finalizing audit scope areas and developing detailed audit plans for assigned areas.
  • Communicating assigned tasks to the engagement team clearly and concisely, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and efficient results.
  • Reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls within the scope area and assessing compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and defining audit issues and root causes, recommending improvements to internal controls and business processes.
  • Supporting field auditors in executing audit reviews as per the plan and within the defined budget.
  • Reviewing risk and control matrices to ensure completeness, analyzing findings, and preparing accurate and complete audit reports.
  • Conducting special reviews to investigate critical segments of the business, identifying weaker areas, and recommending measures for effective control.
  • Promoting risk management-related best practices within the business and guiding peers to enhance performance and produce quality work.

You will need:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CPA) qualification or a Post Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance. CIA qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in audit/finance and accounts functions, with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a financial/operational internal audit role.
  • Big Four experience is an asset, and consultancy experience in the UAE market is advantageous.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of internal audit methodologies, risk management, and control frameworks (COSO/COBIT), and corporate governance.
  • Good knowledge of financials and system audit gained through formal training or work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
