Counsel / Senior Counsel - Public Sector Operations

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our public sector division as Counsel / Senior Counsel - Public Sector Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to our public sector investment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on public sector investment operations, ensuring alignment with AIIB's mandate, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiate legal agreements, utilizing your strong communication skills to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Draft and prepare complex legal documents, including opinions, studies, briefs, reports, correspondence, memoranda, agreements, contracts, and other materials related to investment operations.
  • Provide comprehensive legal support throughout the project cycle, from preparation to implementation and monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years (for Counsel) and 8-10 years (for Senior Counsel) of post-qualification practice experience, preferably in a top-tier international law firm or with an international financial organization.
  • Relevant professional experience with sovereign loans, guarantees, and/or private-public partnership projects and loan/financing/guarantee agreements is highly valued.
  • An excellent command of English, including drafting and negotiating legal documents in English, is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at a high level.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.
  • An LLM degree, J.D., or equivalent, and qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
