Theartgorgeous is a leading art museum in the Middle East, dedicated to showcasing modern and contemporary art from around the world. We are currently seeking a Chief Curator - Art and Culture to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced curator with a passion for 20th-century and contemporary art. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in curatorial roles, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and propose new exhibition ideas, working closely with our Deputy Project Director and Associate Director, Education and Community Engagement.
  • Develop and implement exhibition concepts, including artist selection, installation design, and didactic text.
  • Collaborate with conservators to ensure the long-term maintenance and preservation of artworks.
  • Represent the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi in regional and international events, advancing our curatorial presence and promoting our exhibitions.
Requirements
  • M.A. in Art History or equivalent.
  • Ph.D. or advanced degree in Art History or related field, with a focus on 20th-century and contemporary art.
  • Expert knowledge of professional museum practices, including collection exhibitions, scholarship, and publications.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English, Arabic, Persian, French, or German.
  • Proficiency in database software (The Museum System) and Microsoft Office.
