Senior Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Job Description- The successful candidate will be responsible for validating analysis and quality control sampling, inspection, and testing of raw materials, intermediate, and final products within their respective functions in accordance with approved quality control methods and SOPs.
- Maintaining the availability and integrity of all laboratory equipment, verifying equipment calibration validity.
- Operating and monitoring equipment performance in assigned units of the laboratory while complying with safety, operation, and condition of an assigned area including all equipment, maintaining all equipment in proper operating condition.
- Perform routine and extra verification sample tests according to accepted quality control methods and established testing procedures.
- Validate analysis by comparing test data; verify the reliability of entered data by applying sound logical reasoning and observing historical data and production parameter trends.
- Ensure results meet the requirements of the final classification of the final product prior to authorizing samples.
- Coordinate and monitor the sampling of raw materials, intermediate, and final products as per schedule.
- Execute inspection reports on time according to quality control standards and systems.
- Substitute/in Charge shift controller whenever required.
- Advise shift controller on all related aspects and obtain guidance when necessary.
- Carry out SPC control sample tests in designated areas. In case of deviation, follow established test procedure.
- Enter test result data into LIMS and bring any abnormalities to the notice of his line and respective parties.
- Lead the preparation and standardization of chemical reagents used in day-to-day working of laboratory tests.
- Set up sample lists and test analytical results in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Prepare and select appropriate chemical reagents according to lab standards and analytical instruments in coordination with lab teams.
- Perform daily inspection tours to all online equipment and report status in dedicated reports.
- Create and present OLPA daily reports for all plants in lab morning meetings.
- Perform SPC of OLPA equipment in accordance with established SPC schedules.
- Monitor online equipment and data using technology OLPA control room and take appropriate action to rectify problems.
- Act as first point of contact for operating OLPA equipment. Enter test result data into LIMS and bring any abnormalities to the notice of his line and respective parties.
- Follow up laboratory maintenance work and final testing of repaired equipment to ensure availability.
- Check and carry out trial runs on newly installed and/or repaired laboratory apparatus and analyzers.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and calibration activities of new equipment for Site Acceptance.
- Comply with all safety and fire rules and regulations including use of protective clothing and equipment and ensure that all personnel working in his area comply with safety regulations.
- Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned. Includes ensuring application of good housekeeping in laboratory, maintaining all related files and records, maintaining gas supply to instruments etc.
