About this Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Quality Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting quality testing, evaluating raw materials and packaging materials, and ensuring laboratory equipment meets industry standards.

Main Duties:

  1. Carry out regular quality checks on production batches to ensure consistency and compliance with quality standards.
  2. Evaluate the quality of incoming raw materials and packaging materials to verify their suitability for production.
  3. Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with industry standards.
  4. Recommend adjustments to production batches when necessary to meet quality specifications.
  5. Verify the colour accuracy of production batches and issue batch certificates upon customer request.
  6. Investigate product complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  7. Record all quality control testing data accurately in designated databases and Excel files.
  8. Maintain organized records of approved drawdowns and colour approval data within the ERP software.
  9. Promote a safe working environment in the laboratory and production areas.
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in polymer science, chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Addition certifications or training in quality control and laboratory testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of paint and raw material testing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in R&D / QC Chemist in a reputable paint company.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple projects effectively.
