Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Assistant Rig Technician to join our team at Oil and Gas Job Search Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the correct functioning of electrical equipment on our rigs, reporting any issues to the Electrician (Rig), and participating in the investigation of breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Equipment Maintenance: Undertake regular checks on electrical equipment at assigned locations, ensuring their correct functioning and reporting any issues to the Electrician (Rig).
  • Repair and Maintenance: Undertake repairs to electrical equipment when requested by the Electrician (Rig), including air conditioning units, refrigerators, lighting equipment, and derrick lights.
  • Investigation and Troubleshooting: Participate in the investigation of breakdowns by assisting in the isolating and stripping down of equipment using pullers, bearing presses, and other tools.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation of electrical cables and telephones, and become familiar with records and drawings that must be maintained after each activity.
  • Rig Moves and Operations: Participate in rig moves by checking assigned items from the rig moves preparation list and assisting in the disconnection/reconnection of electrical equipment as instructed.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Perform duties and responsibilities in the implementation of the Company's integrated Health and Safety Environmental Program and Asset Integrity Management Systems.
  • Additional Duties: Perform related duties as assigned, such as powering off or powering up items of equipment when requested, cleaning lamps and electrical panels.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education and Qualifications: Completion of Secondary (12 years) education followed by 2 years' full-time study leading to a Diploma in electrical technology.
