Job Description:

As a Maintenance Engineer at IHG Hotels & Resorts, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel equipment, building, and assets in good condition to ensure high performance and reduce breakdowns. This involves reporting any misuse of hotel equipment and assets to your direct supervisor or shift leader. You will also use initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without direction from the Shift Engineer/Chief Engineer.

Your daily tasks will include inspecting public areas, ensuring they are clean and in operating order. You will also conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical plant rooms, and utilities, informing your line manager immediately in case of any failure, breakage, or shortage. Additionally, you will maintain appropriate files and resources for future reference, complete daily reports outlining work undertaken, and carry a pager to respond to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day.

This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems, conducting lighting checks, investigating reported faults, and assisting in the planning and scheduling of daily operations and preventative maintenance. You will also monitor energy and water consumption used in the hotel, perform regular tours and patrols to identify any water leaks, and familiarize yourself with green engage initiatives and saving plans.

If you have excellent problem-solving skills, are able to work independently, and possess a strong understanding of facilities management principles, this could be the ideal role for you.
