Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging and interactive Social Studies lessons to high school students, following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Developing and implementing creative teaching strategies to inspire a love for Social Studies and foster critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ensuring continuity in the delivery of curriculum content.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in Social Studies. Proven experience teaching Social Studies at high school level, preferably within an American/IB curriculum school, is essential. Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on Social Studies education is also required.
