Egis Group is seeking a highly skilled Computational Design Engineer to join its MEP team in Dubai. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing computational design strategies and driving innovation in building services design.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Computational Design: Develop and implement computational design strategies to drive efficiency and innovation within the MEP team.
  2. Parametric Design Expertise: Possess sound knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, and Ladybug from an MEP perspective, with a focus on front-end delivery.
  3. Software Integration: Introduce software programmers, scripters, and coders to the building services design process and collaborate with them to achieve efficient results.
  4. Design Competitions: Lead competitions and assist in preparing presentations for technical client briefings, improving the presentation of reports, and providing a brand standard with infographics.
  5. Early Design Modelling: Conduct early design modelling and analysis, focusing on parametric optimizations for MEP, sustainability, and design innovation.
  6. BIM Efficiency: Support BIM efficiency through Revit and plug-ins such as Rhino inside Revit, MagiCAD, etc.
  7. Discipline Leadership: Take lead and support discipline-specific MEP engineers on projects, depending on the specialty of the candidate.
  8. Software Development: Liaise externally with software providers/developers on product and process efficiency improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Building Physics Reports: Compile and issue building physics reports for CFD modelling, energy modelling, PUE calculations, and feasibility studies for MEP.
  2. HVAC Expertise: Apply detailed knowledge of HVAC components, controls, and how the systems are operated.
  3. Daylighting Simulations: Conduct daylighting simulations using Rhino/Grasshopper/Radiance.
  4. CFD Simulation: Have experience with CFD simulation (development opportunity, if appropriate).
  5. Energy Modelling: Utilize IES, including Apache HVAC systems modelling, for energy/thermal modelling and building simulation.
  6. Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to other MEP engineers on various parametric software.
Desired Profile
  1. Minimum Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the building services industry.
  2. Industry Experience: Proven track record with different types of sectors, including high-rise, commercial, residential, retail, industrial, refurbishment, etc.
  3. Parametric Design Tools: Credible experience in working with parametric design tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit, and use of early design building simulation software tools specifically Ladybug tools.
  4. Coding Skills: An interest in coding or programming.
  5. Building Regulations: Comprehensive knowledge of current building regulations and local planning codes.
  6. Key Skills: Experienced at preparing project reports, early design analysis, parametrics, and optimization, leading and supporting discipline engineers on projects.
