About the Role

The IB Diploma Coordinator will play a key role in the delivery of the IBDP programme at GEMS Dubai American Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the programme, including coordinating all IB activities at the school and liaising with those responsible for the timetable to ensure that the requirements of the IB are complied with.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To coordinate all IB activities at the school, including managing the day-to-day operations of the IBDP programme.
  2. To liaise with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that the programme is delivered successfully.
  3. To develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and achieve targets set by the school.
  4. To work closely with teachers to ensure that they have the necessary resources and support to deliver the IB programme successfully.
  5. To handle all relevant communication with the different IB offices, serving as liaison between administration, staff, students, parents, and the IBO.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching IB at high school level, preferably within an American/IB curriculum school.
  • Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on education.
  • Demonstrates successful leadership, organisation, and management skills.
  • Excellent communication, public relations, and collaboration skills.
  • Exhibits a strong professional commitment to the successful implementation of the IB Diploma Program.
