We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost and Project Accountant to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate valuation of inventory, creating standard costs, and reviewing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Valuation and Revaluation: Properly value and revalue plant inventory in Dubai and Jubail, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policy.
- Financial Reporting: Review and prepare monthly plant profit and loss statements, as well as related cost accounting reports, to support informed business decisions.
- Plant Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare plant profit and loss statements, budgets, and forecasts under the supervision of the MEA Controller.
- Financial Close and Inventory Management: Engage in and lead HUB financial close activities, upload inventory and accruals, and maintain clean balance sheet schedules for the plant.
- Capex Spend Tracking and Analysis: Prepare and maintain MEA capex spend trackers and plans, forecasting versus actual spend.
- System Transition and Support: Own the Jubail to fuel Oracle transition, highlighting and resolving any system challenges.
- Inventory Count and Variance Analysis: Engage in and lead plant annual inventory counts, complete variance reports, and follow up on any discrepancies.
- IT Support and Training: Liaise with global and WA IT teams for Oracle or other ERP issues, drive solutions, and provide training to other team members on Oracle developments and changes.
- Margin Analysis and Cost Reduction: Provide margin analysis for projects at award and post-execution to the Sales Director, and work closely with operations to drive process standardizations and cost reduction strategies.
- Accounting Process Development: Develop and detail HUB accounting processes, ensuring the team is accurately educated and updated on Oracle functionality and other ERP systems.
- Intelligent Automation: Drive the intelligent automation program, represent the finance team, and be part of the training and knowledge-sharing process.
- 5+ Years of Experience: In corporate accounting or finance, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn to extract data from other business systems.
- Accounting or Finance Degree: A degree in accounting or finance is preferred, with MBA/CPA or other accreditations being advantageous but not vital.
