Duncan & Ross is seeking a highly skilled Senior Offshore Instrumentation Engineer to lead our instrumentation initiatives in the offshore upstream oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Direct and oversee instrumentation engineering tasks for offshore projects.
  • Project Management: Formulate execution strategies, timelines, and financial plans for instrumentation components.
  • Quality Assurance: Guarantee timely completion of all project outputs while adhering to budgetary constraints and quality benchmarks.
  • Documentation: Create and assess instrumentation design documents, including P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, and control philosophies.
  • Equipment Specification: Identify and select instrumentation apparatus, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry regulations.
  • Technical Calculations: Conduct sizing and calculations for control valves, flow meters, and pressure and temperature instruments.
  • Team Guidance: Offer technical direction and mentorship to the instrumentation engineering team.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with other engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Compliance Audits: Execute technical evaluations and audits to confirm design integrity and adherence to industry standards.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring prompt delivery and quality of services and equipment.

  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses pertaining to instrumentation systems.
  • Safety Systems: Implement safety instrumented systems (SIS) in compliance with IEC 61511 standards.
  • Commissioning Support: Assist in commissioning and startup activities, ensuring proper installation and functionality of instrumentation systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Address and resolve instrumentation-related challenges during commissioning and initial operation phases.
  • Training: Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation, including design calculations, datasheets, and as-built drawings.
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare regular updates and reports for project stakeholders.
