Job Summary

The Fabrication Supervisor is a critical role within Amentum, responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and construction of prefabricated metal structures, wooden, tentage, containers, and other equipment. This position requires a high level of expertise in fabrication, welding, and carpentry, as well as strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of containers and equipment to identify areas requiring repair or maintenance. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Supervise and schedule the work activities of the general repair work center, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning within specifications.
  3. Fabrication and Installation: Install, align, and adjust sheet metal, wood, and canvas repair and replacement items for all hard and soft shelters, containers, and equipment.
  4. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare and complete documentation, including Work Orders, USAF Supply, and Amentum forms. Update historical data and coordinate action required with Work Control.
  5. Training and Development: Conduct on-the-job training for assigned staff on equipment operation and maintenance. Identify training requirements and prepare and update training records.
  6. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality standards for subordinates, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards. Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  7. Asset Management: Repair, inspect, fabricate, clean, operate, maintain, control corrosion, reconstitute, and prepare assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, and Unit Type Code (UTC) Configuration listings.
  8. Servicing and Maintenance: Perform servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required, returning equipment to a mission-capable status.
  9. Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit Quality Deficiency Reports, Material Deficiency Reports, and incorporate Technical Order Changes as required.
  10. Material Handling: Operate Material Handling Equipment as required and when trained to do so.
  11. Hazardous Materials: Inspect Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinate with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required, conforming to Amentum/USAF safety, hazardous material, and quality standards.
  12. Temporary Duty: Perform Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Operations as required by the USAF/Amentum tasking.
  13. Project Coordination: Coordinate the erection and construction of Bare Base Shelter systems and associated equipment to support real-world exercises and contingencies.
Requirements
  1. Customer Service and Organizational Skills: Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at an advanced level.
  2. Technical Skills: Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office, including as a minimum PowerPoint, Excel, and Word programs.
  3. Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of Military or civilian experience in the field of structural/facilities maintenance required.
  4. Physical Demands: May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for the task being performed. Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
  5. Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  6. Citizenship: Must be a Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with Harvest Falcon, Eagle, and BEAR assets or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems preferred.
  2. Supervisory Experience: 4-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
