Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technologist to join our team at the Technology Innovation Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and designing circuits, as well as fabricating electronic test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and resolve issues with electronic circuits and equipment.
  • Circuit Design and Fabrication: Design and fabricate electronic test equipment, including circuits and assemblies.
  • Equipment Assembly and Installation: Assemble, install, and service a variety of equipment used in an electronics technology instructional program.
  • Research Support: Assist researchers and teams in setting up equipment for laboratory demonstrations and experiments.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and make minor adjustments on laboratory equipment, including digital oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and multimeters.
  • System Installation and Commissioning: Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
  • Component Design and Testing: Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems.
  • Quality Control: Assist in inspection, testing, adjusting, and evaluation of incoming electrical, electro-mechanical, and electronic components and assemblies to ensure conformance with product specifications and tolerances.
  • Test Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Vendor Interface: Interface with equipment vendors for service, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
  • Safety and Integrity: Maintain and apply a current knowledge of modern safety practices as applied to electronic laboratory operations, and maintain a high level of integrity and discipline with a strong work ethic.
  • Methodology and Procedure Development: Plan and implement methodologies and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics technology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including circuit design and fabrication.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
