About the Role

As a Technical Product Owner at Emirates, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between engineering teams and stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to define the vision of the products we create, drive the planning, prioritization, and execution of backlogs, and deliver new features that support our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximize Product Value: Work with the development teams to maximize product value and work efficiency within the innovation - Robotics and Tech Future team.
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Manager and Developers: Collaborate with the Technical Product Manager and Developers in our RPA Centre of Excellence to evangelize RPA solutions and create a community of RPA end-users.
  • Improve Methods and Processes: Continually improve methods and processes, work with various groups within Emirates and dnata, and drive new features and improve existing applications.
  • Develop Stories and Establish Backlog Priorities: Develop stories and establish backlog priorities, while introducing new solutions as a TPO with working knowledge and experience in an agile team environment.
  • Elicit Business Requirements: Work with the Product Manager/Principal Developer and business unit SMEs to elicit business requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist RPA Developers: Assist the RPA developers in clarifying requirements and helping them to understand the business side.
  • Set Realistic Expectations: Work with the senior RPA developer and Agile Delivery Lead to set realistic expectations for delivery timelines, mitigate impediments and risks, and ensure timely and quality delivery of RPA solutions.
  • Continuously Refine Backlog: Continuously work on RPA/BPM backlog refinement and adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Accept User Stories: Receive product demonstrations from the RPA developers and accept user stories as done.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or Honours: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • Product Ownership Experience: 5+ years' experience in product ownership/management in a 'team facing' capacity, though less experience may be considered
  • Agile Environment Experience: Whilst not essential, some experience of working within an agile environment, across multiple initiatives and teams
  • Customer-Centric Mind-Set: Appetite for building and identifying value, with a customer-centric mind-set.
  • Product Management Tools: Well-versed with the tools for the Product Management aspects of software delivery
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills and be able to enthusiastically convey your Product Vision to stakeholders and effectively influence a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive attitude and an ability to drive discernible change and delivery, at pace, in a pressurised environment
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with peers and team members
  • Agile and Innovative Mind-Set: Agile and innovative mind-set with the tenacity to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
