Job Description

Hudson Manpower is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the work schedule and providing support to the project team in the preparation of plans, drawings, and other project-related documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and vendors to establish methods for implementation of engineering packages, follow up on contractor sourcing materials, and approve contractor documents.
  • Progress Reporting: Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to the client regarding material procurement status, fabrication activities, and erection progress.
  • Close-out Reports: Prepare close-out reports for contracts and engineering packages.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates, MTO, and manpower requirements for project change/variation orders.
  • E&I Bid Support: Provide required E&I bid support, including constructability studies, method statements, manpower requirements, and preparation of MTO and cost estimates.
  • Personnel Selection: Assist in the selection of discipline personnel assigned to projects.
  • Document Review: Check, verify, and review IFC drawings and other attachments associated with electrical & instrumentation aspects.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of workforce effectively and efficiently, monitor work progress to ensure optimum utilization of resources, and obtain maximum productivity.
  • Client Communication: Schedule weekly meetings with the client and discuss project status/issues and other related matters.
  • Installation Experience: Have installation experience for all kinds of electrical & instrument equipment in different Oil & Gas industries.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the correct installation of electrical & instrument devices.
  • Commissioning Activities: Perform loop checking, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain daily progress reports and prepare two-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication among the project team.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess excellent technical know-how about various E&I activities, including DCS, ESD, MMS, PLC & SCADA systems, and all other field instruments.
  • Modification Review: Review and correct modifications, approve pre-commissioning and commissioning checklists/procedures, and organize required resources.
  • Document Verification: Review and check, compare, and verify between IFC documents and site survey reports for constructability aspects and technical and commercial variations/deviations.
  • Project Presentations: Review and finalize project presentations, engineering deliverables, compilation of tender packages, and organize technical bid evaluation processes.
  • Risk Management: Conduct TRA meetings with clients and project management teams and contribute to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to an appropriate level, as per standard HSE norms.
  • Project Scheduling: Review project schedules, including material and manpower planning, and ensure sufficient and adequate resources for the project.
  • Site Visits: Make site visits for planning execution of works with the site team as required.
  • Contractor Management: Ensure contractors' valid security passes, manpower, and equipment certification prior to mobilization to site, arrange and follow up with contractors on manpower & equipment demobilization, and review and offer contractors' bills for payments.
  • Financial Management: Provide support to the project team for budget allocation and expenditure and related issues as identified during the different phases of the execution stage.
  • Execution Compliance: Ensure execution compliance with schedules, budget, and contract obligations and report deviations and constraints.
  • Methodology Improvement: Provide feedback to team members for improvement of work methodology.
  • Material Delivery: Liaise/follow up with contractors to expedite material & resources delivery in line with planned schedules in order to meet execution plans.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with the client regarding project-related issues and keep the client & management updated on project progress.
  • Tender Preparation: Prepare technical bid queries, preparation of tender document deliverables, selection of suitable instruments for a given application, preparation of instruments schedule, and preparation of instrument specification.
