About You
We're looking for a seasoned Security Engineer to join our team at Edge Group. If you have a passion for delivering cutting-edge security solutions and a strong background in security engineering, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Support the defense, response, reporting, mitigation, and restoration of enterprise systems before, during, and after any attempts at exploitation.
- Collaborate with the SOC Team to ensure the organization's systems are operational and secure, leveraging your expertise to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Develop internal operational architecture, tools, and procedures to improve performance, working closely with development organizations to create and deploy necessary tools.
- Manage Splunk infrastructure, Azure infrastructure, and use case creation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Oversee SIEM, SOAR, and security-related devices such as Firewall, IDS, EDR, and DLP, maintaining their health and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Strong coding experience in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate routine tasks and enhance overall efficiency.
- Excellent understanding of Splunk query language and architecture, enabling you to optimize system performance and extract valuable insights.
- Certification in Splunk and/or Azure is highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment to staying up-to-date with industry-leading technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (IT, engineering) is preferred, but not essential, as we value relevant work experience and continuous learning.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, with a focus on developing and implementing security solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
- Proven experience with security technologies, system hardening, threat detection tools, and managing security protocols to safeguard our clients' assets.
- Familiarity with network and security tools such as Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Splunk, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate, and Security Onion is highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of network and system architectures, HLD and LLD, enabling you to design and implement secure systems that meet the needs of our clients.
- Experience with TCP/IP, MITRE ATT&CK, and Cyber Kill Chain is essential for identifying and mitigating potential threats.
- In-depth knowledge of security devices and applications such as DLP, Endpoint Security (Microsoft Defender, Carbon Black EDR, Velociraptor), Firewalls, as well as authentication services like ACL, TACACS, and RADIUS.
- Strong experience in Change Management and Incident handling, ensuring that our systems remain secure and available at all times.
