As a key member of the Asterix Communications team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of process plant and facilities in the assigned area. This will involve carrying out routine checks on equipment, monitoring process parameters, and reporting any defects or abnormalities to the immediate supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly inspect and monitor equipment to ensure it is functioning within established parameters, and report any defects or abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Process Control: Adjust and monitor process parameters, such as temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
- Pre-Maintenance Preparations: Prepare equipment for maintenance activities, ensuring accurate and proper handover and synchronization with other equipment and plant.
- Chemical Management: Receive and store chemicals, maintain inventory records, and prepare chemical batches as required, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Machinery Operation: Safely and efficiently operate related machinery and equipment, following established standards and procedures.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls, guaranteeing employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Emergency Response: Act as the first intervention team member in emergency situations, assist in firefighting activities, and follow up on ongoing jobs, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with the supervisor and other team members to carry out duties efficiently and safely, and follow instructions to ensure smooth operation.
- Emergency Shutdown: Safely shutdown process units in case of emergency, including the activation of the emergency shutdown system.
