Job Description

Venture Search is working with a commodities proprietary trading firm based in Dubai to find an experienced software engineer. The successful applicant will have 2+ years of working experience, preferably in commodity markets, and strong programming skills including Python, SQL, NoSQL and one of GoLang/C#/C++.

The engineer will work closely with researchers and traders to develop models, tools, and analytics solutions. A large part of the day-to-day work involves helping analysts take their models to production, deploying them to the cloud, improving scalability and performance, and building and maintaining tools to analyze model results, monitor them, and make trading decisions.

The role requires a focus on performance and reliability, as well as the ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects effectively, and work independently. Experience in deploying models to the cloud and optimizing their performance, developing UIs to analyze and monitor model/strategy performance, and using Julia programming language are considered desirable but not essential.

The company believes in using the best tools for the job and is open to changing or using new technologies if they allow better results.
