Job Title: Senior Façade Designer

At GHD, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Façade Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality façade design solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Clients: Work closely with our clients to understand their façade design requirements and provide specialist input during the design and tender phases of projects.
  • Design and Detailing: Use AutoCAD, Rhino, and Revit to communicate façade design intent and prepare detailed documentation.
  • System Design: Design and detail various façade systems and cladding types, considering different materials and systems to meet complex project demands.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare design reports for various design stages and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to understand product capabilities and limitations.
  • Client Support: Provide practical advice to clients on buildability and façade construction processes, ensuring their projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with main contractors and their specialist subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Administration: Handle routine contract administration for office and project procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
  • Team Management: Manage project drafting resources and schedules to maintain project programs and mentor junior façade draftspersons.
Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from a reputable university.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in façade design, preferably with a mix of consultancy and contracting experience, with UAE experience essential.
  • Skills: Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino, with sound knowledge of façade systems, design, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong track record of working cross-functionally within a complex matrix organization, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
