Job Description: Senior Loan Syndication Specialist
The Senior Loan Syndication Specialist will play a key role in supporting our Global Corporate Finance (GCF) Loan Businesses. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored financing solutions, leveraging market intelligence and underwriting expertise to drive revenue growth in GCF loan products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of relationships with banks and financial institutions across EMEA, focusing on credit appetite, pricing hurdles, and client focus in the loan markets.
- Pricing, structuring, and booking transactions originated by GCF Loans teams, ensuring optimal financing solutions for our clients.
- Maintaining strong investor relationships for primary and secondary syndications, driving business growth through strategic partnerships.
- Leading syndication discussions with 3rd party banks, analyzing client data, and negotiating deal terms.
- Underwriting and designing syndication strategies for transactions originated by GCF Loans Team, leveraging market insights to inform decision-making.
- Managing global underwriting positions, ensuring effective risk management and optimized return on investment.
- Developing a deep understanding of FAB policies and procedures relevant to the Loans business of GCF, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with Coverage partners, Legal, Credit, and Operations teams to ensure timely transaction execution and maintain strong internal relationships.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Analyzing loan market developments and supporting senior loan origination team members with strategic insights, enhancing our competitive edge in the market.
- Ensuring accurate and timely internal reporting, contributing to budgeting and business planning initiatives that drive business growth.
- Working efficiently, taking ownership of projects once allocated, and adapting to changing priorities to meet business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance/business or related field; MBA and/or professional qualifications advantageous.
- Fluent English language skills; fluency in Arabic and/or any European language beneficial.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex topics to senior audiences.
Experience:
- 8 years' banking experience, with at least 4 years in corporate loan markets; loan syndication experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Strong understanding of corporate financials, able to interpret investment appraisals and financial models to inform underwriting decisions.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work under pressure, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
