Overview
As a Project Planning Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the management of project timelines and progress tracking, ensuring that the project aligns with internal benchmarks and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive planning and progress control framework to assist the Project Manager in decision-making.
  • Identify and analyze any deviations from the established plan, estimating time impacts and monitoring the effectiveness of corrective measures.
  • Foster a culture of schedule awareness among all stakeholders involved in the project.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the creation of project schedules that meet commercial requirements, assessing feasibility and critical paths.
  • Engage in commercial risk management processes.
  • Implement the Planning and Progress Control System in accordance with project complexity, risk factors, and duration, ensuring compliance with the Project Breakdown Structure and Company Standards.
  • Collaborate with various Company Functions and Discipline Leaders to define activities, assign milestones, and establish constraints through logical sequencing.
  • Prepare essential baseline documentation and communicate planning and scheduling needs to responsible parties.
  • Generate all relevant reports and documentation.
  • Develop the Planning & Scheduling Procedure, Progress Measurement Procedure, and Risk Management Plan for managerial review.
  • Coordinate the initiation of risk management activities, facilitating brainstorming sessions and assessing identified risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis for projects of high criticality.

During Project Execution:

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Planning and Progress Control System, monitoring progress measurement and ensuring accurate information flow and reporting on the status of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
  • Update all Project Schedules by collecting actual data, evaluating forecast dates, and monitoring deviations in progress and productivity against the baseline schedule, including any corrective actions implemented.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer within the oil and gas sector.
  • A technical background, such as an Engineering Degree or Btech Diploma.
  • Experience in the Gulf region, preferably on artificial island projects.
  • Previous employment with Saipem is encouraged; experience in an EPC company is essential.
