Job Description

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Inspector to join our team. As an Electrical Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of electrical installations on our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Electrical Engineer or MEP Lead in performing contractual duties onsite, ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Interface with Stakeholders to mitigate construction impacts, including residents and business owners adjacent to the work.
  • Oversee and Inspect all electrical and instrumentation work, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
  • Coordinate with Contractors and utility authorities to ensure timely connections and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and Coordinate all contractors' activities for this discipline, ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Perform Works Inspection Requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis, ensuring that all materials meet specifications and standards.
  • Support the Electrical Engineer in reviewing construction submittals from project inception to close-out, ensuring that all technical requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Construction Management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work, ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and the environment.
  • Review and Interpret disciplined design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
  • Provide Resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s), coordinating the application of solutions to ensure progress onsite.
  • Monitor Material Procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
  • Ensure that Materials Received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
  • Organize the Accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
  • Initiate and Maintain Records, backcharge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering and construction supervision, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and have a strong attention to detail.
