We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Wood PLC, based in Abu Dhabi. As a key member of our Engineering Center, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs and projects while ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of site development plans, including earthwork calculations and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for excavation and backfill under the direction of the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer.
- Design underground networks, including stormwater, sanitary water, and oily water systems.
- Ensure all assigned activities are completed within the stipulated man-hour budgets and time schedules.
- Assist in preparing project-related standards and job notes on assigned projects.
- Perform engineering design calculations and prepare design sketches as required.
- Review, comment on, and approve drawings related to your field of activity.
- Review and comment on supplier and other discipline drawings.
- Attend progress meetings and assist in preparing project progress reports.
- Advise supervising engineers of any slippages and their causes, proposed corrective action, and technical problems or unresolved differences with other groups.
- Assist in preparing contract requisitions and schedules of quantity for Underground Utilities work on assigned projects.
- Liaise with construction personnel and address site queries during construction.
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 10 years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Membership of a professional body and Chartered Engineer status is highly desired, with ongoing commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Considerable experience in Civil Engineering, especially in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Experience in EPC organizations in Engineering Design/FEED projects in all aspects of Civil and Structural activities.
- Familiarity with terminology used in the Oil and Gas business.
- Range of technical abilities, from engineering software like STAADPro/GTSTRUDL to understanding topographical, geophysical, and geotechnical issues.
- Comfortable working with various materials and comfortable bringing innovation to the engineering process.
