We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Health Specialist to join our team at GEMS Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of students and staff, while maintaining a safe and healthy school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Health and Safety Protocols: Develop and implement health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of illnesses and ensure compliance with Ministry of Health guidelines.
  2. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Oversee the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene within the school, including the cafeteria, washrooms, and swimming pools.
  3. Medical Support: Provide medical support to students and staff, including addressing immediate medical needs and providing medical advice.
  4. Medical Records: Maintain comprehensive medical records of all students, as regulated by the Ministry of Health.
  5. Nurse Management: Manage and guide the school nurses to ensure they function optimally in the best interests of students, staff, and the school.
  6. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with current medical practices and regulations, as prescribed by governmental authorities.
  7. Policy Compliance: Ensure that GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
  8. Additional Responsibilities: Initiate efforts and energy beyond the typical workday, where tasks require additional commitment.
  9. Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  10. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested by direct and dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Excellent English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm in cases of emergency and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times.
  • A logical and relaxed individual able to interact with a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures.
