Position Overview:


We are currently looking to fill the role of Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer/Architect to facilitate Systems Engineering development and integration for innovative UAV projects.

This is a permanent position with our client located in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
  • Create specifications for the system and its subsystems to enable the development team to design according to specifications
  • Formulate Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Design architectural frameworks in collaboration with design authorities at various system levels, documenting them in design descriptions, specifications, and layout drawings
  • Collaborate closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary team
  • Oversee technical management (of multidisciplinary teams), including performance trade-offs and managing the development team and technical outputs across functional areas (e.g., environmental, EMC, aerodynamics, simulations, guidance and control, software, etc.)
  • Coordinate with logistics/product support development and safety to ensure the implementation of specialist engineering capabilities such as reliability, maintainability, transportability, and producibility in the design
  • Develop the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
  • Support system qualification by ensuring test results are documented to create compliance reports that demonstrate adherence of the design to specifications
  • Follow established methodologies to meet Quality Assurance requirements, including test repeatability
  • Maintain a decision register to document significant decisions from trade-off studies
  • Lead technical Design Reviews in accordance with the Acquisition Process/Systems Engineering Phases, including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR), coordinating with all engineering disciplines and design authorities for compliance with review checklists
  • Organize and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) prior to critical ground tests (e.g., airframe structural test, GVT) in collaboration with engineering disciplines and design authorities, as well as before flight tests in conjunction with the Flight Test department
  • Conduct Configuration Control Board (CCB)/Project Configuration Management Boards (PCMBs) meetings with design authorities, CM, QA, and safety to process Engineering Change Proposal/Notice/Requests (ECPs/ECNs/ECRs)
  • Participate in Material Review Boards (MRBs)
  • Generate technical work packages, reports, and presentations as needed to support the PM in preparation for PMRs
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in a high-tech environment, preferably 15 years in aerospace
  • Minimum of 5 years, ideally 10 years, of experience as a systems engineer
  • Previous experience in the aeronautics engineering field is preferred
