Program Overview

As a Trainee Bus Technician, you will be enrolled in an IMI-accredited upskilling program, where you will receive comprehensive training and support to become a skilled PSV/Bus Engineering Technician. The program will last for 1 year and will provide you with the opportunity to work in a team of experienced technicians, receiving one-to-one training and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete a series of mapped 'on the job' practicals and online training modules to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Work in a team of experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and develop your problem-solving skills.
  • Develop good time management, attendance, and communication skills to succeed in the program.
Requirements
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in light vehicle repair and maintenance or equivalent.
  • Have a Level 2 English and Maths qualification (Grade C or above at GCSE level or equivalent).
  • Have 3 years of recent experience as a hands-on commercial mechanic.
What We Offer
  • A competitive hourly rate of £14.43 per hour.
  • 28 days paid holiday per annum, including bank holidays.
  • Opportunity to begin employment with National Express as a PSV/Bus Engineering Technician after successful completion of the program.
