Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at Consultant Engineers LLC. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing geospatial solutions to support our infrastructure and landscape projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Digital Maps: Utilize sophisticated tools to create accurate and detailed digital maps that translate the actuality of topographical locations.
  • Manage Geospatial Data: Extract, organize, and maintain large datasets as a GIS analyst, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Implement Cartographic Design Principles: Apply cartographic design principles to develop custom geospatial data, taking into account basic guidelines and best practices.
  • Analyze and Edit Data: Use ArcGIS Spatial Analysis to create and analyze surfaces, and edit data with ArcGIS for Desktop.
  • Digitize Maps and Update Projects: Digitize maps from satellite images and update project maps using Google Earth.
  • Prepare Data Entry and Attribute Tables: Prepare data entry and attribute tables for geospatial data.
  • Convert and Export Data: Convert CAD feature classes to geodatabase feature classes and export geodatabase feature classes to CAD drawing files.
  • Create Digital Maps for Infrastructure and Landscape: Develop digital maps for infrastructure water, irrigation storm, and sewer networks, as well as base maps for landscape areas.
  • Collect and Manage GIS Data: Utilize pre-existing GIS files, paper maps, CAD drawings, and/or GPS & Total Station to collect geographic data, and manage the GIS data for infrastructure and landscape geodatabases.
  • Perform GIS Spatial Analyses: Conduct GIS spatial analyses to support project development and decision-making.
  • Create Reports and Statistics: Create reports and statistics on work progress and GIS data assessment.
  • Quality Control: Validate data that participates in the geometric network, ensuring topology, connectivity rules, attribute data, and other data integrity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in geography, surveying, engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience working as a GIS analyst, preferably with 5-10 years of design experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ESRI ArcGIS, and QGIS.
