We are seeking a highly skilled PMC Technical Safety Specialist to join our team at Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical safety expertise to support our ADNOC Offshore project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the quality of technical safety deliverables and maintain risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
- Comply with all project Health, Safety and Environmental policies and ensure that the design meets all technical safety requirements.
- Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops, and coordinate HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies and other HSE workshops.
- Define safety philosophies and fire, spill & gas detection philosophies, and perform firewater and foam demand calculations.
- Design firewater and foam networks, including siting of hydrants and monitors, and perform hydraulic analysis of firewater and foam networks.
- Prepare Fire Fighting System P&IDs, and define fire proofing requirements for critical structures, equipment supports & pipe racks in the plant.
- Perform layout analysis and define the inter-distance requirement between equipment, and prepare escape route, safety signs and safety equipment layout.
- Coordinate vendor-related activities, such as supply specifications, RFQ, MTOs, and datasheets for safety, life-saving and firefighting equipment.
- Maintain own competence according to standards and pursue continuous professional development, and stay aware of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology development.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in Chemical / loss prevention / environmental.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Must have offshore subsea cables experience in the same role.
- Experience of working on concept, FEED and offshore EPC project phases.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation, international codes and standards.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Experience in gas processing FEED experience is mandatory.
