The ideal candidate will have expertise in midwifery and normal birth agenda, with a commitment to providing high-quality care to women and their babies. The role will involve administering interventions, treatments, and medications in accordance with legislation, hospital policies, and professional standards of practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the woman is provided with appropriate information to make informed decisions relating to care, and that care reflects client preferences. They will also adapt education to meet the specific needs of the woman/family, and maintain high standards of Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing care within a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides nursing care of women and their babies in a safe, effective, timely, and acceptable manner.
  • Expert knowledge of midwifery and normal birth agenda.
  • Administers interventions, treatments, and medications in accordance with legislation, hospital policies, and professional standards of practice.
  • Ensures the woman is provided with appropriate information to make informed decisions relating to care, and that care reflects client preferences.
  • Adapts education to meet the specific needs of the woman/family.
