About the Role

Couchbase is seeking a skilled Solution Engineer to support our rapidly growing user community and drive customer success. As a key member of our pre-sales team, you will be responsible for explaining the benefits and differentiators of our cloud database platform, Capella, and how it addresses customer challenges. Your expertise will help customers understand the value of our solutions and drive business outcomes.

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned professional with experience in presales, software development, and business solutions. Your role will involve working closely with customers and prospects to define their challenges and opportunities, and presenting our solutions as a sustainable business value. You will also be responsible for educating and advising customers on the Couchbase Ecosystem and its applicability to business objectives and value.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate in a consultative process with customers and prospects to define their challenges and opportunities.
  2. Map these challenges to the Couchbase Ecosystem by presenting differentiating and sustainable business value.
  3. Educate and become a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions and current status while delivering value to the prospects and customers.
  4. Present art of the possible and think outside the box approaches and solutions.
  5. Support technical and business discovery activities including workshops and demonstrations across multiple opportunities.
  6. Work closely with the sales team on account strategy and identifying additional opportunities in existing and new accounts.
  7. Ensure the success of customer PoC/Pilots through effective management of acceptance criteria and issue escalation/resolution.
  8. Develop and deliver exceptional and engaging company/product presentations and demonstrations.
  9. Work with all technical levels from managers to architects and developers, explaining the Couchbase Ecosystem and its applicability to business objectives and value.
  10. Be the technical product expert and advisor for customers and stay up-to-date on the data solutions competitive landscape.
  11. Partner with Product Management and Engineering to provide feedback from the field and represent the customer perspective.
  12. Identify and write internal and external technical collateral, like typical deployment architectures or best practices and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 5+ years in a Pre-Sales/Customer-Facing/Consulting Role
  2. 2+ years of experience in software development or related industries
  3. Excellent presentation skills with an ability to present technical solutions concisely to customers or potential customers, from development roles to the C-Suite
  4. Proficient / Native Arabic language skills
  5. Passion for diving into technical issues and solving customer challenges
  6. Programming skills in any one of the following: Java, Python, Javascript,.NET, C, SQL
  7. Experienced in at least one of the major cloud services providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  8. Experienced in designing solutions on at least one major database platform including data modeling, indexes, and query optimization.
Desirables
  1. Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, Containers etc)
  2. Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems
  3. Experience with database platform development is a plus.
  4. Hands-on experience with development of large scale applications.
