To be successful as a Generator Maintenance Technician, you will need to have excellent technical skills and experience in electrical generator systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain technical knowledge of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of planned generator maintenance activities.
  • Commission new generators at customer sites, ensuring they are installed and functioning correctly.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities on gensets according to documented schedules and standards.
  • Create job repair plans based on diagnosis, including required repair operations and anticipated hours needed to complete repairs.
  • Repair and replace damaged parts on generators, using specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies.
  • Diagnose and complete complex repairs to generators and components at customer sites.
  • Target existing and new customers in the market, completing servicing of generators as per company business plan.
  • Work independently, be a problem solver, and collaborate with other electricians to complete tasks in a timely and safe manner.
  • Operate a computer and fill out reports accurately.
  • Respond promptly to after-hour call-out services at the request of management.
  • Travel 80-90% of the time within an assigned region, working overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice.
  • Maintain all Company safety rules, including a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and participate fully in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities.
