Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sushi Maker to join our culinary team at MAJID AL FUTTAIM. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes to our discerning customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare menu items and substitute items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Food Presentation: Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to meet our high standards of presentation.
  • Food Quality Control: Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Recipe Execution: Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
  • Allergen Knowledge: Demonstrate good knowledge of allergens in different types of food to ensure customer safety.
  • Sushi Menu Development: Prepare a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish, including salmon, tuna, and unagi.
  • Sushi Preparation: Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi, expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary Experience: 2+ years of related culinary experience.
  • Production Experience: Experience working with high volume production.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with strong multitasking skills.
  • Cultural Adaptability: Adapt in a multicultural environment.
  • Language Skills: English (Full professional proficiency).
