Job Description

Taaeen is seeking a Waste Management Strategist to oversee planning and waste management by establishing a national waste management monitoring network and supervising the development of strategic plans and comprehensive programs to ensure effective waste management practices and alignment with national and environmental objectives.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and schemes in coordination with relevant sectors to ensure effective waste management practices.
  • Monitor solid waste production in the Emirate and analyze data to inform policy decisions on waste management.
  • Establish a database in coordination with the Statistical Center Abu Dhabi (SCAD), relevant sectors, and concerned entities to track waste management metrics.
  • Establish a national waste management monitoring network and ensure effective implementation of waste management schemes while adhering to legal requirements.
  • Leverage the national waste strategy and policy to inform plans for waste collection and disposal licenses, and policies of minimization and recycling.
  • Collaborate with the Environment Policy and Regulations Section to provide feedback on policy drafts and updates.
  • Share collected data and analysis with the Environmental Information Management division on a regular basis to ensure timely consolidation and reporting.
  • Ensure all data is collected in line with set standards and guidelines.
  • Develop periodic reports on the status of waste management in the Emirate.
Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with relevant sectors to develop and implement strategic plans and schemes.
  2. Analyze data on solid waste production to inform policy decisions.
