Position Description

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and reliability of passenger services by overseeing the implementation of assurance and compliance strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing safety procedures and protocols to mitigate risks associated with maintenance activities.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive assurance and compliance strategies to ensure safe and reliable train operations.
  2. Work closely with maintenance contractors to ensure they adhere to established safety procedures and protocols.
  3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Qualifications:
• Professional qualification or certification from a related professional body, e.g., the Institution of Mechanical Engineering or others, is an advantage.

Experience:
• 5 years or more of relevant, demonstrable industry experience, preferably in railway or transportation projects.
• Strong understanding of railway systems, including rolling stock and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of maintenance management (e.g., CMMS) or safety standards.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Anticipation, analysis, identification, and problem-solving capacity.
• Stakeholder management with internal and external customers.
